WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe in God, who has always existed, is completely perfect, and is completely sovereign in the universe. He is One God, Who exists as three complete and distinct persons, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is special revelation breathed out from God to man. It is absolutely true and perfect. It is the primary way that we get to know God, and is the only and ultimate standard of authority for what we believe and how we behave as individuals and as a church.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, was virgin born and lived sinlessly on the earth as completely God and completely human. He died on the cross for our sin, was buried, rose again, and today sits at the right hand of God as the world’s only Savior.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of repentance and saving belief in Christ. He produces Christ’s character in us, teaches us truth as we study the Bible, and gives power and spiritual gifting to each believer so that we can serve God and each other.

According to Jesus’ commands, we baptize believers by immersing them in water, and we regularly celebrate the Lord’s Table to remember His life and work of salvation. We believe that a literal heaven and hell do exist, and all people will spend eternity after their physical death in one place or the other.

We believe that man was created in the image of God for fellowship with Him, chose to reject God’s authority of his own free will by sinful disobedience, and received a sin nature that he passes onto all future generations. Because of that sin nature, we sin and are separated from God.

We believe that the only way to be saved from the daily damage of sin in our lives and an eternal separation from God and punishment of sin in hell is by actively trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection to pay for that penalty on mankind’s behalf. We believe that genuine fellowship and regularly gathering together are an essential component of the believer’s growth in Christ.
